Melanie Winklosky is a fiction writer trapped in a grant writer’s body. She has worked in public education for more than thirty years, first in state government and then in education non-profits in Boston. She lives in Swampscott, Massachusetts and is the mother of two children and an enormous chocolate lab. In addition to grant proposals, which are their own special kind of fiction, Melanie writes fiction, creative nonfiction, and essays, was named a finalist in the 2023 Boston in 100 Words contest, and is a 2023 finalist in NYC Midnight’s Flash Fiction Challenge.
